Happy Birthday to me and a broken lawn mower

So April 8th was my birthday.  I have, for the last I-don’t-know-how-many years, bought myself a birthday present.  This year I bought something that has been sitting in my wish list on Amazon since it came out… a Lensbaby Sweet 35 Optic for my Lensbaby Composer.  The nice UPS man dropped it on my doorstep the day before my birthday… PERFECT timing I must say!  Now you must be saying to yourself: “ok, so I get the Happy Birthday to me part of the title, but what the heck does it have to do with a broken lawn mower??”  So my lawn mower broke a few months and I have yet to repair or replace it.  Meanwhile Sacramento has had a nice mix of rain-sun-rain-wind-rain-sun-wind, which promotes growth of grass and pollination of weeds.  Basically my backyard somewhat resembles a small jungle.

OK- so let’s wrap up this post shall we….!  One of my favorite weeds is the dandelion,  and my mini jungle of a backyard has quite a few of them growing right now.  What better time to make lemonade out of lemons and test out my new toy I bought for my birthday.

The results are in… I LOVE my new Lensbaby addition.  Having an adjustable aperture within the lens combined with the selective focus function is AWEsome : )
