I have been busy/lazy so I have not shown the blogsite much love lately. I got to spend this past weekend in San Francisco. I love this city, I truly do. I was particularly excited about this stay because I was going to be seeing Adele in concert at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on Saturday. I have been kinda obsessed with her latest album, 21. If you haven’t heard it, listen to it/buy it. Immediately. I’m just sayin. While at work on friday I was perusing facebook on my phone (yes, it was a very busy day… lol) and I saw a post on Adele’s page that she canceled the remaining 9 shows left in her North American tour. Boooooooooooooooo! I’m so crossing my fingers that she will be rescheduling.
Anyhoo… If you live in Northern California, you know how, well, bizarre our weather has been. This first weekend of June was no exception. Cold, rainy, and basically not sunny like June should be. Spoken like a true spoiled girl from Cali. 🙂
On the bright side it was the perfect setting for some HDR photos of the city. For those of you that have never heard of HDR, it is basically taking multiple images (of the same scene) taken at different exposures (super bright and overexposed to show highlights, normally exposed to show midtones, and underexposed and dark to show great shadows) and then combining them into one photo. This combines the best of all worlds and can be very dynamic imagery!
These pics were shot hand held and captured through a window (should be done on a tripod but I didn’t bring mine… a tripod helps to stabilize your camera and make sure the multiple images line up better when they merge), but still turned out pretty cool I think…
Both images of the city were taken through the living room window of the house I stayed at. Yeah, I wished I lived there too!
And this my not be HDR, but it’s still pretty cute. This is Sydney. A cute little pug that lives in the home I was staying at. She’s older than she looks. She surprised me when she started barking at the wall. “She’s a little senile,” I was told. Haha. Cutest senile pug I ever met.
